Feasts & Fast Seasons
During major feast days (Be’ale), Lent (Abiy Tsom), the Fast of the Apostles, the Fast of the Assumption, and other fasting periods, service schedules may change. Please check our announcements.

What to Expect

  • Reverent worship with chant (Zema), incense, and traditional prayer.
  • Scripture readings and teaching in the Orthodox tradition.
  • Standing during prayer is common; seating is available for elders and those who need it.
  • Modest dress is encouraged. Many women cover their hair with a netela (optional for visitors).
  • Children & families are welcome—our parish is a family community.

If you are visiting for the first time, we encourage you to arrive early and speak with an usher or parish member.

How to Prepare for Holy Communion

Preparation for Holy Communion includes prayer, repentance, reconciliation, and fasting according to the guidance of the Church and your confessor.

1) Confession
Confession is a sacrament of healing and reconciliation. Please arrange confession with the priest.
2) Fasting & Prayer
Follow the Church’s fasting and prayer tradition, preparing your heart with humility and peace.
3) Reconciliation
Seek peace with others and forgive. Communion is received in unity, love, and repentance.
Important
Please follow the priest’s guidance regarding Communion. Visitors are welcome to attend and pray even if they do not receive Communion.

Sacraments & Pastoral Services

The Church serves the faithful through the sacraments and pastoral care. Please contact the parish office for scheduling.

Baptism & Chrismation
For infants and adults (catechesis required for adults).
Marriage
Premarital counseling and church preparation are required.
Funerals & Memorials
Pastoral support and memorial services for departed faithful.
Confession & Counseling
Spiritual guidance by appointment with the priest.
