Services (Worship)
The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church is centered on the Holy Liturgy, prayer, Scripture, and the sacramental life. Below is a clear guide to our worship services, what to expect, and how to prepare.
Service Times
Times may vary for major feasts and fasting seasons. Please confirm on our announcements or contact us.
What to Expect
- Reverent worship with chant (Zema), incense, and traditional prayer.
- Scripture readings and teaching in the Orthodox tradition.
- Standing during prayer is common; seating is available for elders and those who need it.
- Modest dress is encouraged. Many women cover their hair with a netela (optional for visitors).
- Children & families are welcome—our parish is a family community.
Visitors
If you are visiting for the first time, we encourage you to arrive early and speak with an usher or parish member.
